Morning Conditions at the Woodrow Wilson Bridge - Beltway Outer Loop

During surveys in 1993 and 1996, a zone of severe congestion was found on the inner loop of the beltway (in Maryland) approaching the Potomac River at the Woodrow Wilson Bridge; the tail of this queue was typically located in the vicinity of MD 210 (Indian Head Highway). When surveyed in 1999, congestion typically extended all the way back to the vicinity of St. Barnabas Rd. This graphic depicts how the level-of-service has changed along this corridor between 1993 and 1999.
