Evening Conditions at the Woodrow Wilson Bridge - Beltway Outer Loop
During surveys in 1993, 1996, and 1999, delays were typically encountered by commuters traveling from Virginia into Maryland across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. The severity and duration of the congestion on the beltway outer loop appears to have gradually worsened such that by 1999, speeds less than 20 mph are typically found between the vicinity of Telegraph Rd and the Potomac River. This graphic depicts how the level-of-service has changed along this corridor between 1993 and 1999.
